Magnolia Belle Riverboat Cruises
-Riverboat on Lake Pontchartrain, New Orleans & the Northshore-
Recapture the Charm of a Bygone Era on the Mississippi and Tchefuncte Rivers...
Welcome aboard one of America's oldest traditions - a true sternwheel riverboat, driven solely by the power of its paddlewheel.
The days of Southern Belles, Mint Juleps and gracious southern living can be revisited aboard the Magnolia Belle... a boat named after the state flower of Louisiana and Mississippi. Cruising on the Magnolia Belle reveals a view of the river and the rich beauty and history of Louisiana from its banks... scenery that has remained much the same for more than a century. Experience the delights of a forgotten time... the fragrant southern breezes, the soft sway of the river and the sound of the steady rhythm of the paddlewheel as it glides across the waterways of south Louisiana. The Magnolia Belle is the first riverboat to be on Lake Pontchartrain and the Tchefuncte River in over 100 years (making its debut in Louisiana at the Greater Mandeville Seafood Festival in July 2004). The Belle was originally designed to be a steam-driven packetboat (a passenger-carrying riverboat), and has been featured in the 1993 film "The Adventures of Huck Finn."
The Magnolia Belle's hailing port is New Orleans but regularly travels to various ports on the northshore and the southshore of Lake Pontchartrain. The Belle provides every comfort for its guests including: the finest catering from New Orleans and the Northshore, a fully-stocked bar offering fine wine, imported beer and mixed drinks, an air-conditioned and enclosed main deck, a spacious upper deck perfect for dancing and open-air viewing of the river, and knowledgeable information on every kind of local and eclectic musical entertainment.
The Magnolia Belle is available for charters, parties, weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, church events, office meetings, seminars, sightseeing and swampland excursions.
